Over the next 2 years, we are going to raise vital funds and further awareness for two key charities that support veterans to receive support in overcoming PTSD and mental health issues.

I have had my own challenges regarding my mental health which has significantly impacted my career and personal life; it is something I still battle with on a daily basis…I would therefore love to do as much as I can to support other people on their personal journeys.

In order to achieve this I’ve set myself the goal of becoming a DJ and performing at a major UK festival within 2 years. The reality….I’m a complete novice who has never touched a set of decks.

Because music has played such an important part in keeping my mind and emotions stable, it was the obvious choice as the theme for my challenge - people jumping around in muddy fields, without any cares or concerns, wearing whatever they like without judgement….it is the place where I can be me!

At 34, you might be thinking that I’m probably too old and inexperienced to be able to break into the music industry. This is something I’ve dreamed of doing since I was a teenager and I want to inspire anyone suffering from problems with their mental health that anything is possible when you find your purpose.

I would love you to follow me on this journey, where I will document every step, my successes and certainly all the setbacks I will face. If you can support in any way to help achieve our goals for charity, or you would like to share your own journey, please get in touch!

Combat Stress

Combat Stress are UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health.

For almost a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with trauma-related mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Today, they provide our life-changing treatment to veterans from every service and every conflict. On the phone and online. In the community and at our specialist centres.

When a veteran asks for  help, they develop a programme of treatment and support to meet their individual needs. From an hour a week at a peer support group meeting close to home to our six-week residential PTSD treatment programme at one of our specialist centres, together they work out the right support.

Invisible injuries can be just as hard to cope with as physical ones. Their services help veterans cope with the present, tackle the past and take on the future. Some may find using just one of their services will transform their lives, others may need more to start living again. But their expert team will be there to help every step of the way.

The programme is community-based, with treatment and support provided locally through a nationwide network of 200 therapists, accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. PTSD Resolution helps Veterans and Reservists to resolve the mental health problems associated with military trauma that obstruct a normal range of family and work relationships.
