Welcome to this week’s DJ2CombatStress blog and mix where I’ll be looking at Reflection.
Having worked with a lot of people (including myself) who are trying to achieve something, reflection can be a great tool. Ever hear people say “in hindsight….I would have…”. Reflection helps you to think about past situations and digest what happened; good or bad. So that you can make changes in the future when the same situation occurs.
But what I want to focus on this week is the reflection in the now. When you look in the mirror, what do you see? And do you tell yourself what you see?
Give it a try and it can be quite enlightening.
Now when I say look in the mirror and what do you see, most would instantly jump to their physical appearance, and quite rightly so. But try looking beyond this, look within yourself. Look at yourself as a parent, a partner, a lover, a business person, even a DJ. Then look deeper; look at your life, what do you truly believe in? Think about how happy, satisfied and fulfilled you are in ever aspect of your life.
If there are good aspects to your thoughts, great – smile and pat yourself on the back; keep doing what you’re doing! If there are bad aspects, think about what you want to change, now. Think about how if would feel to make this change and what you would see when the change happens.
Then smile, pat yourself on the back, say well done for realising that you are going to make a change. Now – go and make that change happen!
Zero 2 Raw for PTSD
Big shout out this week goes to Scott Woodhouse who is preparing for a 900 mile cycle in support of people suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Scott’s been using some recent DJ2CombatStress Mixes to help him find that extra gear during training. Click on the link below to follow Scott’s journey!
This Week’s Mix
Continuing with the Electro House flavour, I’ve continued my discovery of future bass. It seems to have more base than electro house and less electro but good none the less and I’m enjoying the change in atmosphere that it can provide. It will become a permanent feature of my future sets!!
I’ve included a host of new tracks which I think will take 2019 by storm, and there are a few prominent pauses in the bass, giving you enough time for some Reflection!!
Have a great week and happy listening – DJ Climpo
